Australia
Australia is the fifth largest wine exporter globally and were the pioneers of the re-imagining of Syrah to Shiraz, which proved very popular yet controversial to some. With Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay also being commonly planted grapes, the Australian winemakers have recently been planting more and more varieties from other countries to expand the possibilities of their wines.
